An epic scenery, long descents and endless opportunities. That’s what you need to experience an unforgettable freeride day in the Pitztal. As local experts we guide you safely through the stunning freeride area at the Pitztal Glacier and the Rifflsee resort. Always looking for the best snow and a maximum of safety.
Two freeride areas with a different character form the freeride playground in the Pitztal valley. The Pitztal Glacier Resort is famous for its high-alpine flair and the very long descents. At the Rifflsee you find wide faces and also some fun tree runs which are a good option on powder storm days.
Freeriding up to an altitude of 3,440 m above sea level. The Pitztal Glacier is said to be one of the best and most challenging freeride resorts in Tirol. There are the legendary runs at the Mittagskogel, where the Pitztal Wild Face Freeride Extreme race starts. The area provides some spectacular downhills and we might need a rope to get to the really good runs. If you have freeride skis with skins, we have even more exciting skiing options.
Rifflsee is the little brother of the Glacier. But it is absolutely worth to ski there. The ski-lifts reach an altitude of 2,800 m above sea level. In the Rifflsee Resort we find wide open southeast faced slopes which offer first powder and then corn snow. Also there are some steep couloirs and fun tree runs.
The mandatory equipment for off-piste activities consists of a beacon, a metal shovel and a probe. Depending on the tour (glacier tours for example) more equipment is necessary.
If you don’t have your own equipment, you can rent it at the mountain guide’s office.
If you book a tour with us, we offer a package price for the following items: beacon, shovel, probe, crampons, ice axe, climbing harness, helmet, airbag, ski poles, headlights
